Our stock timber is select clear Western Red Cedar.   We use cedar as we find most people want a light paddle with moderate strength. For heavier duty we recommend clear select Douglas Fir (known in Australia as Oregon).

 

Custom options include hardwood edging for bump protection, shoulders, gloss finish, and a range of different timbers.   

 

Suitable timbers include Douglas Fir, Huon Pine, King Billy Pine, and Hoop Pine. 

 

Please note Huon Pine and King Billy Pine are old growth timbers rescued from dams in Tasmania and attract a significant premium. If you have a specific timber in mind call us to see if we can source some for your paddle.
